India vs England 3rd Test Highlights Match Report

India vs England 3rd Test, India defeated England in the 3rd test of the 5-match test series being played on the English soil, was ahead of India winning back to back the first two tests of the series.

Skipper Virat Kohli led India beat the host team in the Nottingham test match by a huge 203 runs.

With this win, India is likely to get the required momentum to outperform England and win the remaining two matches.

India was trailing by 2 matches when they went out to play in the 3rd match. But with some excellent batting performance from Kohli Brigade and some exceptional bowling performance from the bowlers made it easy for the Indian team to register the 1st test match win in the series.

England won the toss and decided to send India to bat first. The opening pair of India, Dhawan, and Rahul started the innings with a good partnership without losing any wicket.
After their wickets, India pulled out of another batting collapse by some brilliant batting show by Skipper Virat Kohli and Vice Captain Ajinkya Rahane. Though Kohli was 3 runs short of his 2nd test century in this series, was able to provide the needed momentum for a big score. Ajinkya scored a good 81 runs before Stuart Broad took his wicket.

India scored an aggregate 329 runs in their first innings of the Nottingham test. James Anderson, Chris Woakes, and Stuart Broad took 3 wickets each in the 1st innings.

England swiped out for only 161 runs in the 1st innings after being thrashed by bowling of Hardik Pandya.

Hardik gave his best bowling performance in Trent Bridge toppling 5 England wickets conceding 28 runs. England’s top scorer was Jos Butler, who made only 39 runs.

India came to bat in the 2nd innings with 168 runs ahead of England. Virat Kohli scored his 2nd test century in this series in the 2nd innings after getting out for 97 runs in the first innings. He scored 103 runs off 197 balls. Pujara scored 72 runs after facing 208 balls.

India in their 2nd innings, wobbled the strong England batting line-up by picking up quick 5 wickets. But Ben Stokes and Jos Butler came to England’s rescue for some time with their partnership of over 100 runs. Butler scored 106 runs before being dismissed by Bumrah’s bowling.

Bumrah took a 5-wicket haul in the 2nd innings which made England to score 317 runs that paved the way for India’s first win in the series.
