South Africa vs Sri Lanka Highlights 4th ODI Scorecard, Wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock of South Africa was made the skipper for his side for the two remaining ODI matches against host Sri Lanka. The two teams played their 4th match of the series at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka on Wednesday.The appointment of de Kock came after the regular captain, Faf du Plessis was ruled out of the rest of the series after injuring his shoulder in the 3rdODI of the five-match series against Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka finally won the 4th One day International match against South Africa after losing consecutive 3 matches in the ongoing ODI series. They beat South Africa by a very short margin of 3 runs (D/L Method). It was nail-biting match between the two sides after rain causedmany disruptions in the course of the match. Sri Lankan batsmen posted a huge total to defend. South Africa began the chase and the match was interrupted again and again due to rain.JP Duminy and Hashim Amla held their nerves after fall of 2 quick wickets and scored 57 runs for the third wicket. The fielding efforts of the Sri Lankan players provided the requisite recipe for their win.The Sri Lankan bowlers did their part and clinched victory for their team.

South Africa won the toss and sent Sri Lanka to bat.
It was all round performance from Sri Lanka both by bat and ball. SL scored 100 runs in 15.3 overs having lost 2 batsmen. Rain battered the match, and the overs were decreased to 39at last. They ultimately score a mammoth 306 for 7 wickets in just 39 overs. DasunShanaka scored his maiden ODI 50 and went on to score the highest runs (65) for his team. KusalPerera and ThisaraPerera both scored half centuries in their innings. Lungi Ngidi and JP Duminy took two wickets each for SA.
Debutant captain and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock scored only 23 runs in the match. Hashim Amla was the top scorer of RSA scoring 40 runs. JP Duminy was run out when he was on 38. David Miller contributed 21 runs, but that was not enough to get his team reach the target.Lakmal and Thisera paired to topple 5 wickets of their opponent. Eventually South Africa scored 187/9 and Sri Lanka won the match by 3 runs (D/L method).
The two teams will now meet again on 12th August for the last game of the 5-match series.
